Should California’s pot laws be decriminalized, legalized, or stay the same?

-“Marijuana should not be one hundred percent legalized but it should be decriminalized.”

Thomas Dienstbier, freshman, international business and law

-“Pot laws should probably stay the same because we don’t know what the impact is on the community or the economy.”

Rashawnda Kelly-Brown, senior journalism

-“Pot should be illegal and that would stop big business and people trying to take advantage of growing pot in California.”

Eric Krasner, senior, international studies

-“California should decriminalize. There’s a lot more pressing issues than people smoking weed.”

Chloe Hawkins, freshman, psychology

I don't care about pot. What bothers me is the culture of people making shat loads of money and paying no taxes. Those grower's must use the schools, the roads, and other services that are funded on the backs of people who work and pay taxes. If pot is legalized I hope all the budget strapped Ag Departments, Water Quality inspectors etc. can afford watching this industry like they do everything else.

Wow, what a bunch of misinformed opinions.

Esp. the goof who said that keeping pot illegal will keep people from ' ...trying to take advantage of growing pot in California.”?
Hahahahaha. Where are you? Do you know where you are at right now? What city, state and country you reside in?
Get a grip. Jesus christ almighty someone shoot me.

Also, the United States has THE HIGHEST rate of incarceration in the ENTIRE F'n WORLD (and most drug arrests are for simple marijuana possession) and yet, ' There’s a lot more pressing issues than people smoking weed.'?

Good lord. We're doooomed.
Please, for the love of God, educate yourselves.
Legalizing marijuana is one of THE most pressing issues we can change.

Destroying people's lives, breaking up families, creating more violent criminals by puttng people in prison for a victimless crime ...that's not important????

Keeping it illegal? Has that worked????
