Prior to California's presidential primary election on Feb. 5, conservative Blue Dog "Democratic" Congressman Mike Thompson has endorsed Iraq invasion supporter Hillary Clinton for the presidency, instead of anti-war challenger Illinois Senator Barack Obama.

Being a stubborn, vocal opponent of the grassroots effort to impeach George Bush Junior and Dick Cheney, it goes without saying that Bush/Cheney collaborator Mike Thompson decided against endorsing Dennis Kucinich.

Republican-lite Mike Thompson's endorsement of Hillary will undoubtedly matter little in the outcome of the Democratic Party's presidential contest; however, Blue Dog Mike Thompson's choice to support the status quo in Washington, D.C., comes as no surprise.

Like self-admitted Goldwater Girl Hillary Clinton, "our" self-admitted conservative congressman Mike Thompson has never met a campaign donor or corporate lobbyist he didn't love.

Like Hillary, Mike Thompson grandstands politically and pretends to be an opponent of Bush and Cheney's foreign policy fiascos, while Thompson simultaneously votes to fund the continuing (and potentially never-ending) occupation of Iraq against the wishes of the vast majority of the American people.

And that putrid pile of campaign cash/blood money from weapons manufacturer Lockheed Martin that "mysteriously" landed in Mike Thompson's lap had nothing to do with Thompson's series of pro-war votes in "our" Congress, I'm sure. [www.opensecrets.org]

Mike Thompson is a disgrace to the Democratic party and to Northern California's 1st Congressional District. It's time for change.

Ten years of Congressman Thompson is enough. Democrats, your opportunity to send Thompson into retirement where he belongs is this June 3. Don't forget to vote.
