Westwood is kind of an awkward location for a music venue. It's not by anything exciting, it's a little out of the way, but when Mosgo's went into the space next to
Westwood Market everything made sense.

There wasn't a coffee shop in the area, and there is always a lack of all-ages-music venues in this community.

Mosgo's provides shade-grown coffee, interesting teas, creative espresso drinks and a variety of all-ages shows and activities. They have shows almost every weekend, and movies during the week.

The sound is full and bright, and they have
a stage so the venue is ideal for quiet, folky acoustic shows.

It's not as good for punk, or harder shows because it is still a coffee shop and there are chairs and tables instead of a dance floor. Having a stage is a huge plus as far as venues go around here.

When there aren't shows happening the stage is just another place to chill and sip a flowering jasmine tea. It's also a free wireless hot spot, and they have a community computer with Internet access for people to use in house.

You can go to their website, for a list of their featured coffees and the various shows and events they are hosting. The next show of interest is on Sept. 7, a band called the Ripple Effect will be playing at 7 p.m.
